CATONSVILLE, Md. –– James Everett Evenson, 84, of Catonsville, Md., died on January 25, 2025. He was born in Mason City, Iowa, in 1940 to Everett and Donita (Watkins) Evenson. He moved at age six to Huron where he spent his youth. He graduated from Huron High School in 1958 and South Dakota State University in 1962. He was commissioned a second Lieutenant in Army Artillery at graduation.
James is survived by Elaine, his wife of 58 years, three children: Erin (Jon), Kara (Allen), and Kirk (Donna), four grandchildren: Brennan, Gavin, Kaitlyn, and Shane, and his brother Edward (Sue).
A mass of remembrance is planned at Our Lady of the Angels chapel in Charlestown retirement community in Catonsville on Friday, Feb. 21, 2025. Receiving guests at 10:30 a.m. and mass at 11 a.m. Reception to follow.
