WATERTOWN — With six goals in the opening period, Watertown went on to claim an 8-1 victory against the Huron All-Stars on Saturday.
The All-Stars got their lone goal in the opening period.
After the Lakers put the first five goals on the board, Monte Bogh found the net for Huron o a pass from Ryder Casper-Houghtaling.
Watertown carried a 6-1 lead into the second period and capped the scoring with a pair of goals in the second period.
Jack Bales had 26 saves in the net for the All-Stars.
Huron, which is now 1-15, will host Brandon Valley at 7 p.m. Saturday at Bergman Arena.
Junior Varsity
The Huron junior varsity scored seven unanswered goals en route to a 7-1 victory against Watertown on Saturday.
The Lakers scored their lone goal with 2:47 remaining in the opening period. The lead lasted just 11 seconds, as Elliot Hartman put Huron on the board. Benjamin Mattke had the assist.
After heading into the second period with a 1-1 tie, the All-Stars took the lead with an unassisted goal by Monte Bogh.
Huron would carry a 3-1 lead into the final period, as Ryder Casper-Houghtaling scored on a pass from Hartman.
Casper-Houghtaling and Hartman would earn second goals in the third period. Casper-Houghtaling’s goal was assisted by Jaxon Greenfield, while Mason Hunter assisted on Hartman’s goal during a power play.
An unassisted goal by Greenfield and a goal from Hunter capped the scoring for the All-Stars. Hartman and Alex Timm combined for the assist on the final goal.
Kaleb Rashaad earned the win in the net for Huron, with 23 saves. The All-Stars had 33 shots in the game.
