Posted

HURON — Early-bird registration ends soon for the 42nd annual Andy’s Road Race and Harvey Gleich Memorial Walk, which will be held Saturday, Aug. 31, at Memorial Park in Huron.

The road race, named after former Huron track coach Andy Kleinsasser, is divided into various age groups running the 5K and 10K races. There is also a 5K fun walk for participants of any age and fitness level. A free fun run for elementary children will also be held.

Andy’s will be held during the State Fair, and all participants will receive a free one-day gate pass to the Fair. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers in each division of the 5K and 10K races. The race features great food, door prizes and route stops.

The 5K/10K race will be chip-timed by Anderson Race Management.

Early-bird registration for the run is $30 until August 2. Registration received between August 3 and August 22 is $40.

Registration August 23 through race day is $50. Walker registration is $30. All registration fees include refreshments and a commemorative performance tank. High School Cross Country runners may enter the race for a flat $5 fee, with the option to purchase a shirt.

Businesses interested in a sponsorship or a corporate rate for employee participants should contact the HRMC Foundation at 605-353-6315.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the dialysis program at HRMC.
