HURON – On a near-perfect day for a morning run, the 42nd annual Andy’s Road Race, along with the Harvey Gleich Memorial Walk and kids’ fun run, took place Saturday at Memorial Park.
Christian Small of Huron took the overall individual title in the 5K run with a time of 19:35. Angelo Medina finished second with a time of 20:04 while James Wer finished third at 20:05.
Kendal Uttecht won the women's 5K race with a time of 20:44. Josie Vlieger (22:00) and Eleanor Anderson (23:31) finished second and third.
Kyle Hotchkin of Norfolk, Neb., led the 17 participants in the 10K with a top time of 39:59. He was followed by Andy Reimer at 40:50 and Ashley Curnow at 43:42.
Awards were given for the top time among cross country participants and by age group, along with multiple door prizes distributed as well.
Funds raised benefitted the Huron Regional Medical Center Dialysis Unit.
