Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 3, Ethan 0
WOONSOCKET - The Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks swept the Ethan Rustlers Thursday in Woonsocket.

Set scores for the Blackhawks were 25-23, 25-20, and 25-22.

Liz Boschee led the Blackhawks with 12 kills. Addison Bartholow paced the SCW defense with 15 digs.

Alexa Goertz had three service aces for the Blackhawks, while Kenzie Schley and Kali Hofer each had 13 set assists to cue the offense.

Ethan falls to 1-1. Marissa Storm had four service aces and Anna

Castillo aced three serves. Rachel Paige led the Rustler defense with 14 digs.

The Blackhawks (3-2) travel to Corsica-Stickney Tuesday.

Hitchcock-Tulare 3, James Valley Christian 0
HITCHCOCK — The fifth-ranked Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots cruised to a 25-6, 25-6, and 25-3 sweep of the James Valley Christian Lady Vikings Thursday in Hitchcock in a 281 Conference matchup.

Katelyn Schroeder led the Lady Patriots to 3-0 with 14 kills on 15 of 15 hitting. The Patriots had 33 aces as a team, with Ella Johnson dropping 11 aces on 20 of 22 serving while Lila Johnson was 18 of 18 serving with eight aces.

The Lady Vikings fall to 0-3. Kaitlyn Stahl and Nave Gross each had a service ace.

The Lady Patriots will travel to Estelline Saturday for a tournament while the Lady Vikings are off until traveling to Corsica-Stickney next Thursday.

Miller 3, Sully Buttes 0
MILLER — The Miller Rustlers remained perfect on the season, taking a straight set win over the Sully Buttes Chargers in non-conference volleyball action. The set scores for Miller were 25-14, 25-11 and 25-10.

Paige Werdel and Aleah Schlechter each had seven kills to pace a balanced Miller attack. Gracen Werdel added six kills and Kate Lichty had five in the match.

Olivia Resel had four aces and passed out 25 assists and Jolie Palmer led the defense with seven digs.

The Rustlers, now 5-0 on the season, travel to Warner for a huge match on Tuesday.

Highmore-Harrold 3, Lower Brule 0
HIGHMORE — The Highmore-Harrold Pirates rolled to a 3-0 win over the Lower Brule Lady Sioux Thursday night, in non-conference volleyball. Set scores for H-H were 25-22, 25-16 and 25-21.

Addison McDonnell had 11 kills and four aces for the Pirates, while Jada Baloun had five kills and two blocks. Brooklyn Baloun led Highmore-Harrold with 17 assists and had four digs.

The Pirates, now 2-1, host Sunshine Bible Academy Tuesday.

Redfield 3, Deuel 0
REDFIELD — The Redfield Pheasants volleyball team broke into the win column Thursday night, downing the Deuel Cardinals in straight sets, 25-12, 25-12 and 25-22.

Cecilia Suchor had 12 kills and Charli Jungwirth added 10 kills and seven digs as Redfield improved to 1-3 on the season. Brynn Giblin had three aces for the Pheasants and Hayden Gall passed out 12 assists.

Emma Suttler had four kills, Kayden Russell had six assists, two kills and 10 digs, while Addison Timmons had 16 digs and two service aces, as Deuel remains winless at 0-4.

Redfield hosts Leola/Frederick Area on Tuesday.

Colman-Egan 3, De Smet 1
COLMAN - The De Smet Bulldogs took the first set Thursday in Colman, but the Colman-Egan Hawks came back to take the match in four sets by scores of 14-25, 29-27, 25-14, and 25-20.

The Hawks move to 2-1 behind 16 kills and 16 digs from Brynlee Landis.
Finley Luze had 18 assists and Kaylee Voelker had 16 assists to set up the C-E offense.

Elaina Rhode had four service aces and 11 kills for the Hawks.

Hazel Luethmers led De Smet (1-3) with 21 kills, 6 blocks, and 13 digs. Megan Dylla paced the Bulldogs with 28 assists and 16 digs.

The Bulldogs host Deuel on Tuesday.

Wolsey-Wessington 3, De Smet 2
WOLSEY — The Wolsey-Wessington Lady Warbirds won a hard-fought five-set match over the De Smet Bulldogs Tuesday in Wolsey by set scores of 25-21, 25-16, 22-25, 22-25, and 15-11.

The Lady Warbirds move to 2-1 behind 15 kills and six blocks from Samara Clemente. Tatum Luce also had 15 kills for W-W on 27 of 35 hitting.

Shae Uttecht led the home squad with 28 digs and had two aces on 27 of 28 serving. Kendal Uttecht had 44 assists.

The Bulldogs fall to 1-2 despite a monster night from Hazel Luethmers, who had 26 kills and nine blocks. Mirra Beck had 22 digs while Megan Dylla had 36 assists.

The Lady ‘Birds will travel to Hitchcock to face Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots on Thursday, Sept. 12.

Hanson 3, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 1
FORESTBURG — The Hanson Beavers won a tough four-set match over the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks on Tuesday at Sanborn Central.

Set scores for Hanson were 25-17, 25-23, 20-25, and 25-16.

Jazzy Campbell led the Beavers, now 4-0, with 17 kills. Ava Doyle added 11 kills.

Taryn Holm served up five aces for Hanson. Jersey Kampshaft set the offense with 36 assists and Claire Bridge had 27 digs.

Kaylie Robinson led the Blackhawks with 13 kills, followed by Liz Boschee with 12. Addy Bartholow had a big match at the service line with five aces.

Kali Hofer had 17 assists, three blocks, and three aces while Alexa Goertz had 15 digs to lead the Blackhawk defense.
