Cyclones volleyball gets road win

MILBANK - The Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones went on the road and scored a 3-1 victory over the Milbank Bulldogs on Thursday.

Set scores for Clark/Willow Lake were 23-25, 25-15, 25-19, and 25-23.

The Cyclones were led by Shay Michalski with 20 kills on 35 of 43 hitting. Zoe Nichols had nine kills on 16 of 20 hitting. Hannah Heiman was 21 of 23 serving with three aces and Avery Lee was a perfect 20 of 20 serving with a pair of aces.

Sami Brendan set up the CWL offense with 34 assists and Kate Larson led the defense with 28 digs.

The Bulldogs fall to 2-1 despite strong serving that saw Ella Sandvig nail four aces on 13 of 13 serving and also chip in 17 digs. Claire Snaza was 26 of 29 hitting with 10 kills and had five blocks.

The Cyclones (1-2) will participate today in a quadrangular at Flandreau.
