HURON — Kevin Helvik, a devoted family man and skilled plumber, passed away on July 3, 2024, at the age of 65 at Elmore Assisted Living and Memory Care in Elmore, Minn., after a three and a half year battle with a Traumatic Brain Injury.

Visitation with family present will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, at Welter Funeral Home in Huron. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday evening for close family and friends to celebrate Kevin’s life and the indelible mark he left on their hearts.

Born on Aug. 30, 1958, Kevin spent 42 years as a dedicated plumber, earning a reputation for his expertise and integrity.

Kevin’s life was marked by his deep commitment to his family. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, always putting family first and creating a legacy of love and care that will be cherished for generations. His wisdom, warmth, and unwavering support were a constant source of strength for those who knew him.

In his career, Kevin’s hands crafted countless solutions, bringing comfort and efficiency to many homes. His work was more than a profession; it was a testament to his perseverance and dedication.

Kevin’s kindness and generosity were felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Whether sharing a laugh, lending a hand, or offering advice, his presence was a blessing. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever remember his gentle spirit and unwavering love.

Kevin is survived by his children, Deanna Helvik and Jill Helvik; grandchildren, Skyler Helvik, Spencer Busch, Sirinity Blair, Jake Root and Emersen Root; and great-grandchildren, Dominic Helvik, Demetri Helvik, Desmond Helvik, Juniper Blair, and twin great-granddaughters due in September, who will continue to honor his legacy and cherish the countless memories they created together.

His impact on their lives is immeasurable, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
